Are you wearing a career mask and would you ever consider a career change? Would you choose your passion over a paycheque? Joy over what frustrates you? Well, it is not too late to define new career goals and to pursue a path that brings you happiness.

Ever been in a job where you feel like youre not seen and what youre doing has no value. When you dont feel like youre part of the team and your work environment doesnt feel like home. Truly speaking, youre just doing it for the paycheque. Every day is just a mundane routine and you dont have any real connection to what you do. If youve reached a point where you dont even want to come to work anymore and you wonder if there is more you could be doing. Maybe there is.

Its time to pause and reflect. Not only does a career thats not suitable for you create discontentment, it also hinders your personal growth. Your ability to thrive as a professional is limited and you cant grow your earning capacity.

Discover the 5 undeniable signs that you need a career change.

1.      You dont feel like youre accomplishing much

When your job starts feeling predictable and unexciting, it limits your development. When accomplishing a task feels like a mission and you dont feel proud of your work, maybe this is not what youre cut out for.

You might have no longer have the zeal to come up with new ideas or grow in your role. Its time to discover why you feel like this.

2.      Lack of Enjoyment in what you do

When going to work and doing your job becomes a drag, it affects your productivity. Loving what you do allows you to grow your expertise and to elevate your career.

Without passion and love, its almost impossible to experience career growth. Not enjoying what you do prevents your leaders from seeing your potential. Your career growth becomes stagnant and you miss out opportunities to get promoted and increase your earning potential.

3.      Youre Depressed

If youre always feeling miserable when at the workplace, this is a sure sign that you are unhappy. Being unhappy at work also results in your body breaking down which leads to many illnesses.

When you are psychologically oppressed and unhappy in your place of work, it affects your physical health. If you discover signs that your job might be making you sick and depressed, you should question if it is worth it.

4.      You dont have a desire to Grow

Without desire, your job feels like a painful chore. When you feel this way, you dont have aspirations to explore other opportunities in the same field. This prevents you from accessing better career breaks that can advance you professionally.

Your place of work should be where you discover your strengths and talents. It should also challenge you to become a better professional and expert in what you do. Without ambition to grow, you are unable to progress.

5.      Feelings of Anxiety

When youre work environment makes you anxious and you feel boxed, this causes you to become stressed. Your workplace should be a place where you are challenged but also celebrated. If its not working out well and you feel like meeting your job role requirements is too difficult, it might not be for you.

If you anxious all the time about doing your job and feel incapable maybe you should be doing something else.

If you can relate to one or two of these signs, you pretty much need to question the career path you are on. This is realising what youre truly passionate about, that one thing you can wake up in the middle of the night and do. When you learn how to choose a career path that reflects your interest and talent, it allows you to create the life you have always imagined. This realisation can help you know yourself more and make decisions that are suitable for you.

It is important to know yourself and what you are good at so you realise where you fit in. Are you someone who is creative and artsy? Perhaps you are a conceptual genius. Being around people who are the opposite of you, structured, rigid, numbers driven, might conflict with your agenda and talent. When you become intentional about the industry you want to get into because of your skills, youre more likely to land a job that you love.
