National Certificate: N4 Engineering Studies (Electrical - Light Current)

During your studies you will acquire technical knowledge of the principles of electricity, which include current flow of electricity in an electrical circuit. National Certificate: N4 Engineering Studies (Mechanical)

During your studies, you will learn some theories in kinematics, angular motion, dynamics, modulus and other Engineering Science components. In addition, you will learn some fundamentals of mechanical draughting, gears, manufacturing and machining processes, and other mechanical draughting concepts. You will also learn workshop layouts, metal cutting machines, hydraulic systems and other learning components in mechanotechnics. In addition, you will be well grounded in mathematical problem-solving skills in the relevant
field of study.

National Certificate: N5 Engineering Studies (Mechanical)

During your studies you will acquire some knowledge of the general properties of substances and magnetism, and of the principles of electricity. Your studies will also include some components of mechanical drawing and design such as friction and bearings, shells and riveted joints, and belt drives. Furthermore, you will learn about gears, elevators, and conveyors. In addition to this, you will have a full understanding of rail and road traction and flywheels, and gain mathematical problem-solving skills in the relevant field of study.

National Certificate: N6 Engineering Studies (Mechanical)

During your studies you will acquire theoretical and technical knowledge about Thermodynamics, Electrostatics, and Atomic Physics. You will also gain a refined knowledge of belt drives, pulleys and gear wheels, bending and twisting of shafts, plain bearings, lubrication of plain bearings, friction clutches; columns and struts, and cams. Moreover, you will learn about clutches and brakes, line shafts, flywheels, reduction gearboxes, rail traction
and vehicle dynamics, and kinematics. You will also gain some mathematical problem solving skills in the relevant field.
