ICB: National Certificate: Bookkeeping NQF 3 SAQA ID No.: 58375 This qualification is designed with the idea to introduce the basics of bookkeeping to individuals entering the bookkeeping environment; this qualification is registered with SAQA (South African Qualifications Authority) and focuses mainly on the principles of bookkeeping. Students should be able to complete functions including Creditors control, payroll, IRP and VAT as well as Tax functions.

Programme Type The National Certificate: Bookkeeping NQF 3 is a National Qualification. More about Programme Types
Entrance Requirement Students must be at least 16 years of age. No prior Accounting knowledge is required.
Course Duration You should be able to complete this course within 18 months.
Course Content - Bookkeeping to Trial Balance
- Payroll and Monthly SARS Returns
- Computerised Bookkeeping
- Business Literacy
Assessment You are required to hand in written assignments and write 1 formal exam per subject. To qualify to write these exams you must be registered with the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB).
PLEASE NOTE: Your enrolment with INTEC does not include the registration with ICB. Please contact the Institute for details on exam registration, dates and registration fees.
Award Upon successful completion of the course, learners will receive an ICB results letter outlining the unit standards covered. The ICB will apply to FASSET on the learner’s behalf for the National Certificate: Bookkeeping NQF 3 to be certificated.
Accreditation The National Certificate: Bookkeeping NQF 3 is accredited by ICB and FASSET.
