You will learn how to develop and arrange songs effectively - and how to develop approaches to music production.
Entrance Requirement
Grade 10 (Std. 8) or equivalent, or relevant working experience, and must be PC literate or have a basic understanding of digital audio software. You should be familiar with and be able to work on Windows 7, and have access to a computer with the following specifications:
- Intel/AMD Dual Core CPU
- 2GB of RAM
- Display Resolution 1280x800 (recommended)
- Windows compatible audio hardware (ASIO compatible
audio hardware recommended for low-latency performance)
- 8 GB hard disk space
- DVD-ROM Dual-layer drive
- USB port for USB-eLicenserNB:
- Internet connection for license activation
NB: PC must have a sound card and speakers for playback.
Course Outcomes
- Produce for independent artists and record labels.
- Produce within an established recording studio.
- Production for a radio station.
- Production for a television and / or media production house.
- Independent music production of projects.
Course Duration
You should be able to complete this course within 12 months.
Course Content The course includes the following topics: - Identifying the roles of a modern music producer.
- How to focus on and develop key production principles.
- Creative production techniques.
- Producing music with midi programming.
- Applying a professional approach to music production.
Assessment
All the required assignments must be completed and sent to the College for marking. All assignments must be successfully passed in order to obtain the award.
Award
After you successfully complete the course, you will receive your INTEC Digital Music Production Short Course Certificate.
