This course will introduce you to the Digital Sound Engineering field.
Entrance Requirement
Grade 10 (Std. 8) or equivalent, or relevant working experience, and you should be familiar with and be able to work on Windows 7, and have access to a computer with the following specifications:
- Intel/AMD Dual Core CPU
- 2GB of RAM
- Display Resolution 1280x800 (recommended)
- Windows compatible audio hardware (ASIO compatible
audio hardware recommended for low-latency performance)
- 8 GB hard disk space
- DVD-ROM Dual-layer drive
- USB port for USB-eLicenser
- Internet connection for license activation
Course Duration
You should be able to complete this course within 12 months.
Course Content The course includes the following topics: - Getting started with Cubase
- An overview of Cubase
- Connecting your computer to your mixing desk and speakers
- Digital audio
- Using the Cubase mixer
- Equalisation and the frequency spectrum
- Plug-in effects
- Compression
- Project window features and functions
- Recording and incorporating audio
- Editing and processing audio
- Mixing a drum kit
- The correct approach to mixing
- Live-stage mixing
Assessment
All the required assignments must be completed and sent to the College for marking. All assignments must be successfully passed in order to obtain the award.
Award
After you successfully complete the course, you will receive your INTEC Digital Sound Engineering Short Course Certificate.
