CompTIA A+ Certification (Windows 7)
This course will prepare students for the CompTIA A+ Essentials certification exam (2009 objectives). Students will obtain the skills and knowledge necessary to install, upgrade, repair, configure, troubleshoot, and perform preventative maintenance on personal computer hardware and operating systems.
This course also prepares students for the CompTIA A+ Practical Application certification exam (2009 Objectives). Students will learn how to support PC hardware in a business setting, including installation, troubleshooting, component repalcement, networking, and security. Students will also learn to manage the Windows operating system.

Sotfware Requirements
You will need the following software :
- Windows 7 or Windows XP or Windows Vista
- In addition, you will need to install the following software:
- Latest service pack for Windows
- Sound card drivers
- A copy of the avast! antivirus software. An evaluation copy is suitable and is available
www.avast.com.
Hardware Requirements
- A keyboard and a pointing device such as a mouse
- 1 GHz or higher 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
- 1 GB or higher RAM on 32-bit processor computers or 2 GB
or higher RAM on 64-bit processor computers
- At least 30 GB of free hard disk space on 32-bit processor computers or at least 40 GB
of free hard disk space on 64-bit processor computers
- Monitor with DirectX 9 graphics support; Windows Display Driver Model
- (WDDM) 1.0 or higher
- NIC
- Modem
- Sound card and speakers
- A video card
- 10/100 Mbps or faster network interface card(NIC), plus associated cabling to attach to a
network (RJ-45 connectors)
- 60 GB hard drive; at least 16 GB of free hard disk space on 32-bit processor computers or at least
20 GB of free hard disk space on 64-bit processor computers
- CD-ROM/DVD-RW drive supported by Windows 7
- Windows 7-compatible modem

Assessment
The CompTIA A+ Course is externally examined at a Prometric Testing Centre. Please contact your nearest testing Centre on 0800 991 120 two weeks in advance, before writing the external exams. Please note that your exam fees are not included in your tuition fee.
Award
On successful completion of your external exams you will receive the internationally recognised CompTIA A+ Certificate.
