Entrance Requirement
Grade 10 (Std.8) or equivalent, or relevant work experience and access to a sewing machine.
Course Duration
You should be able to complete this course within 24 months.
Course Content - The Essentials of Design and Pattern Cutting
Figure measurements and drafting the block pattern, hints on cutting and making patterns, a glossary of trade terms, diagrams and illustrations of trade procedures. - Skirt Designing:
How to make the basic skirt block: the flared skirt and the straight skirt. - Bodice Designing:
The making of a bodice block: manipulating bodice darts, neckline styling, etc. - Sleeve Designing
- Collar Designing
- Adapting and Drafting Patterns
Adapting the latest trends. Drafting coat and jacket patterns, drafting and cutting slacks, shorts and trousers, drafting of close-fitting styles for evening and beach wear. Notes on retail and wholesale cutting of plaids, checks and napped materials and on lays, markers,etc.
Start you own Small Business
All INTEC Job Creator programmes include the subject How to Start a Small Business. This subject will teach you the following:
Record business financial transactions
Perform value added tax calculations and complete returns
Cost and price a product
Complete PAYE documents
Assessment
All required assignments must be completed and sent to the College for marking. All assignments must be successfully passed in order to obtain the award.
Award
On successful completion you will receive your INTEC Pattern Cutting and Design Diploma.
